Loggerheads Improvements
Loggerheads Improvements
Work will begin on Monday 19th August at Loggerheads Country Park to undertake essential repairs to a river wall and bridge as part of scheme of upgrades funded by the UK Government. All country park facilities will be open as usual, though there may be some disruption regarding access and parking. Signage will be present on site to direct visitors, along with the Ranger Team to offer advice. The works are expected to last approximately six-eight weeks.
One of the most dramatic changes to the site will be the removal of a section of the yew hedge, to enable safe access to the river wall. The hedge in places is part of the issue, as roots have become entangled in the walling and caused areas of significant bank subsidence and undercutting. The section removed will be replaced by established with yew hedging once the works have been completed.
